Our people

Our Operations are as diverse as the country itself. In the UK we employ people from 158 nationalities.
The vast majority of our colleagues working in fulfilment centres, sort centres, and delivery stations live in the communities that surround each site. Many of them grew up in those communities. There are strong roots connecting our workforce and our neighbours.
Our fulfilment centre associates work a four-day week with 10-hour shifts, including breaks.
They then get three days off and they can also switch shifts for added flexibility.

  • “I retired in 2018 at 58 years old, and after a year of cooking, cleaning and decorating at home, I was completely bored. LTN2 is a two-minute drive from my house, so I thought I'd give it a go and I'm having an awful lot of fun. I've been an instructor for two months - the diversity of the people I meet blows me away from the chief exec of an advertising company to a housewife who has just started her first job, everyone is coming together.”

  • “I love learning new processes and Amazon’s culture is one of learning. After managing my own business and sharing leadership advice, I was keen to get back to leading large groups of people and developing a shared sense of purpose. In this sense, Amazon is a land of great adventure, there is so much going on. I love the fact that I’m not stuck behind a desk but I am able to shape the environment around me, to make it safer, more sustainable and more fun.”

  • “The company offers so many training and development programmes that could help me progress and because Amazon contributes 95% towards the cost of the course, it’s been a no brainer for me. It’s fantastic to have access to funded opportunities to pursue my dream career.”
